Piopio–Aria Golf Club Incorporated was founded in April 1980 following the amalgamation of two local nine-hole courses in Piopio and Aria. Land was secured to create a full 18-hole course, and the property chosen remains our current site at 1686 State Highway 3, just 5 km from the Piopio township.

The course layout, designed by Harold Dale, was brought to life through the volunteer efforts of members from the original clubs. Today, our 18-hole course plays as a Par 70, 5,383m from the white tees for men and a Par 72, 4,821m from the yellow tees for ladies. Adding to its charm, the course is shared with friendly sheep that graze the fairways and help keep the rough trimmed. Their presence creates a relaxed, authentic atmosphere that makes a round here truly unique.

Though smaller in membership compared to some other clubs in New Zealand, Piopio–Aria Golf Club plays a vital role in our community. We currently have 107 members and 11 junior members, coming from Piopio, Aria, Te Kuiti, Otorohanga, and even as far as Cambridge.

Our club welcomes golfers of all ages and backgrounds, offering not just a place to play, but also a space to connect, share camaraderie, and enjoy the game in a friendly and supportive environment.
